If neither of these are the case, the unit may have a refrigerant leak that needs attention however, this is usually very rare unless some sort of damage has been done to the unit.

Whirlpool does have a service manual for their 'under-counter' icemakers. You can find it at the site linked below.

I have never worked on any of the Whirlpool ice machines but I do believe your problem may be linked to a cooling system problem.

If this unit uses a forced air condenser, the condenser could be plugged with dust or pet hair or the fan motor may be slowing do to defect. Either of these conditions will hamper the ability of the appliance to remove heat and may cause the symptoms you described.

Is there h2o or ice in the ice mildew? If not place h2o in it and see if it dumps the ice soon after it is frozen. If there is certainly ice, elevate the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it is going to commence. If it does dump the ice but do not refill with water. Attempt swapping the wires on the twin water inlet valve. It is on the back where the h2o provide comes in. Then strive the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This can tell you climate or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is distinct. The h2o inlet valve on the back again of unit opens once the ice maker desires h2o. If the valve does not seal good as a result of sediment or put on it will proceed to drip and when the water reaches the ice machine provide tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the h2o line off the valve and view to view if it drips.
